About Mizohata Shrine
Mizohata Shrine is a short walk northeast of Gifu and Meitetsu Gifu Stations and has a rather large park leading up to it.
In addition to the usual mix of gods for safe travel, childbirth, safety, health, etc, it is also famous for aviation safety.
My Visit

I’d wanted to visit this shrine for a while because Dude is an aerospace engineer and also because I simply love airplanes. It is very close to the fabric and craft store, Otsukaya, so thankfully it’s easy to combine a quick shopping trip and a shrine visit into one for easy parking.

While there, I fell in love with their goshuincho. It features a plane silhouetted against a full moon over the shrine on the cover and I love moon and start related imagery. I also discovered that they have special goshuin only available on the evening of the full moon! Needless to say, I went back.

They have 4 basic goshuin, one regular one and three featuring the Zero, Hien, and Mitsubishi X-2. The goshuin featured here is the regular design.
